BECID 1 is coming to an end
Since 2022, we’ve been actively working to counter information disorders and promote media literacy across the Baltic countries. Our first funding period concludes in May, but this is far from the end for BECID. A new chapter begins in June with the launch of our next funding phase – BECID 2. We’ll be sharing more about its focus and goals soon. But for now, it’s time to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished over the past few years.
BECID organises
On Monday, May 19 the second digital security event called DigiÄKK (DigiRapid), took place in Tähtvere Park. Last year, 10 kindergarten groups participated in digital skills training. This year, that number grew to 15 groups – reaching around 300 children in total!
Although the focus of the event was on the internet and screen-based learning, the event did not use screens for learning. Instead, new knowledge was gained in the open air through age-appropriate games that stimulated discussion and movement and taught children how to be safer online.

BECID also participated in the EDMO campaign Be Online Smart. We translated and printed posters and postcards. The postcards were distributed at the Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas County Public Library, Kaunas Juozas Grušas Art Gymnasium and Valmiera Library. They were also sent to local governments in Estonia.
